Millbrook Residence

The Millbrook Residence was a masterplan project Shane worked on during his time at Nelson Byrd Woltz. The clients approximately 600 acres property contained rare breeds of horses and donkeys, site specific land art, several different ecologies, multiple residences and several maintenance challenges. Our main goals consisted of: developing a masterplan, long term land planning, maintenance plans for the staff and landscape designs for specific locations. One of our planning focuses were changing the way fields were maintained. Their heavy mowing schedule kept the fields short, which caused the grasses to perpetually contain a high sugar content. This was affecting the health of the grazing animals. With the new plan, they will be healthier and the fields will contain beautiful meadows.
